Before placing in the job envelope, place chains in small zip-lock
bag with its catch sticking out of the top. This will keep the
chain from tangling. When removing, hold chain by clasp and lift
out of the bag. Do not the open bag and it dump out. Brad Simon

An additional way of handling many chains is to take the ties that
are used for plastic bags, and wrap them tightly around several
parts of the chain. This works best when the chains are all the same
size. This way they are held together and won’t tangle.
