Experience with Italy Jewelry Education

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone has taken classes from Le Arti Orafe or
Metallo Nobile in Florence. I was considering taking a jewelry design
class in Italy this Fall, but I’m not sure which one to go to. Also,
I had originally planned on only going for 1 month, but does anyone
have reasons why a 3 month course is better aside from the obvious of
more class time?

THANKS!
Vanessa Mitchell

Dear Vanessa Mitchell,

I’m a Professor in Charge of Jewelry Technology and Design at the
University of Florence “Progettazione della moda”
http://www.moda.unifi.it

There are both private courses and University courses on Jewelry.
Among the private schools, Le Arti Orafe is well known
http://www.artiorafe.it . In a few days an international exhibition
organized by Le Arti Orafe will be held in Lucca (another city in
Tuscany) with jewels by goldsmiths from all over the world.

The course should be chosen considering the degree of skill reached.
If you let me know about the courses taken by you and your knowledge
of the subject, I can enquire at Le Arti Orafe and Metallo Nobile to
find out the solution that suits you best.
