This thread is very interesting and worrying!
I am sure that many gemmologists, including me, would appreciate
it very much if anyone amongst the Orchid community would advise
us about the standard use of solvent ether as a method for
distinguishing amber from copal resin. Are there any effective
alternatives that are known to be user friendly and work?
