Etching sterling using ferric nitrate

For Vicki, Alma and others who have been asking about the formula for
mixing ferric nitrate:

crystals are mixed 55% by weight in water (mixture should be the color of
coffee as stated earlier), the solution works on silver much like ferric
chloride does on copper - slowly and evenly.

This company also sells ferric chloride and oxalic acid (to remove ferric
chloride stains from clothing for the messy among us)

I am not associated with this company in any way.
