Maybe it’s me being cranky these days, but I found the last two posts
I read on this subject a bit too off topic for my taste. If you are
going to discuss how to ameliorate the damage Orchidites might inflict
on the environment from the use of the chemicals we use, that’s great
and I’m all for it. However, the discussion of “natural” vs "unnatural"
extinction and forest fires is getting away from the kind of
jewelry-related I would like to see in my e-mailbox from
Orchid. Maybe we can create an “Environmental Bits” thread for the
newsgroup. I know many jewelers and artists who would like to learn
how to deal with their materials responsibly and such a thread would
help them sort out from the Orchid digest back searches.
