Yes, I have made several “#8” Little Torch tips, with success. I was
shown this by a now- departed friend.

I/he/we used #1 tips as a starting place, as these aren’t useable
with oxy-propane. The ruby/sapphire in the end needs removing first.
I have a couple of scribe-like dental tools. I merely stuck the tool
in the opening, and burnished the opening larger. If you wanted to be
scientific about it, you could get the aperture sizes of the regular
tips, and extend the progression to the #8 tip, using a piece of wire
with the correct diameter as a guage of the aperture diameter.
Eye-balling worked find, however.

Zev–I have been doing this for years without a problem. I usually
use the #1 & 2 tips as I have never used them anyway. I pop out the
"jewel" and then drill straight into the opening. I will then hit the
tip with a cup bur to clean it up. This works for me…Teddy

All the time, just get the metal shavings out of the tip before
using it.
