Hello Karla! The exhibition sounds GREAT!

"Playing with Fire", the juried San Diego Enamel Guild show being
held in Spanish Village [Studio 21], Balboa Park, San Diego,
California. August 1 - 14 There will be a lot of innovative enamel
on display plus a catalog and CD have been composed of the show
pieces.

I will not be able to attend but I might like to order the
catalogue… as perhaps other Orchadians might like to do. Could you
please post the email address, or actual postal address and phone
number for inquiries regarding the catalogue and CD, and perhaps a
link to the online, if it is available.

Thank You

Orchid Friends, I have been getting some inquiries from those that
will not be able to attend the “Playing with Fire” enamel show being
held in San Diego but would like to obtain a catalog.

Including postage and handling, the color catalog is $15 and the CD
is $20. The person you will need to contact is Jane Beiser.
jbeiser@beiser.com Be patient with her, she is waiting to become a
grandmother at any second.

The show opened on Sunday and contains many innovative approaches to
vitreous enamel. One woman welded together splatters she had made
from dropping molten copper onto stainless steel. The splatters were
formed into a very lacy bowl and then enameled. Another woman
figured out how to enamel river rocks. A fellow presented
assemblages of copper foil that he had enameled using a propane
torch. There were examples of enamel on corrugated and formed silver
in flower forms and other artists enameled on various sizes of mesh.
We had large panels on steel and delicate pieces of jewelry.

We were all quite pleased with the presentations which came from all
over the country.
