several years back there were warnings in lots of newspapers
concerning Mexican pottery with lead glazes as i recall the
problem was acidic foods (OJ Tomatoes etc.) chemically leaching
the metals out. Believe part of the jproblem was incomplete
firing. None of this should be a concern with small wearables
but thought I;d mention it
