Electrical outlets in the Studio

In case any of you are building a studio or remodeling a space to
accomodate one - here’s one thing I’ve learned: PUT IN WAY MORE
ELECTRICAL OUTLETS THAN YOU THING YOU’LL EVER NEED. I put in 6 duplex
110v outlets plus dedicated circuits for the kiln, AC and rapid
prototyper (each) and I’m still short.

Plug, unplug, plug, unplug. Trust me, install more. You’ll find
equipment to use it all.

The same goes when designing a kitchen. We put in way more than we
thought we’d need and sure enough we need them.

Justine,

I have an outlet on every stud in the walls, every other one is on a
different circuit breaker, each wall has it’s own set of breakers. I
am wiring in the 240 50 circuits this week, I need 3 or them, so I
will put in 6 or 9. My one 100 ciruit will only have one connection
to it, due to expense at this moment.

Copper isn’t cheap! Lack of power causes lack of income. I am
currently turning our extra large 2 car garage into out new hot shop
and machinery studios. Next will be a new building for our expansion.
