Elastic for rough beads?

Hi all, I have a customer who likes a certain necklace I made using
rough, nugget type pink quartz. She would like a bracelet with the
same stones on elastic cord. I have never really used elastic and
wonder if it would hold up under the friction from the rough stones.
Anyone have any advice or know of a certain brand that will hold up
best?

Thanks,
Jill

Jill, The rough nugget type beads usually have a larger hole. I have
a few suggestions, double or triple the elastic cord string bugle
beads that fit inside the nugget hole so they keep the sharp nugget
from fraying the elastic cord laboriously file the ends of the nugget
holes smooth to prevent cutting through the elastic convince the
customer to allow you to string it on foxtail or similar and use a
toggle clasp.
