As of April 2010 I will be offering lapidary instruction in my Santa
Fe studio.
Ideally a workshop will be five days for three people. The right
number so everyone gets personal attention and three persons to get
some synergy going. I have been cutting stone for more than 30 years:
faceting, cabbing, and carving. I have cut every type of material
with the exception of diamond.
The first workshops will be for beginners, no experience necessary.
That being said, I can accommodate most any special requests or
needs. Individual instruction can be arranged. If there is a demand
for it I will teach an advanced class.
For anyone interested please contact me via my email. At a certain
point we can talk by phone if that’s helpful.
As I get some feedback I will write up a syllabus so you will know
what will be covered in a particular class.
I’ve decided to do this at this point because I would be comfortable
doing it and more importantly make it a rewarding experience for a
student. I have been a teacher of high school students, college
English majors and high school drop-outs.
