I have found it more successful and much easier to draw the wire
down to a smaller gage, which will fit through the existing bead
hole, rather than try to enlarge the hole. I routinely draw my wire
down to 28 gage when attaching delicate beads with small holes. I
initially tried to enlarge the bead holes, but it was a slow process
and, if the beads were fragile, resulted in a number of broken beads.
