The recent Rio Grande Artisan's Quarterly - Summer 2007 - says:
"Germanium, if alloyed with silver (in place of oxygen-vulnerable
copper) might create a sterling that could drastically reduce
tarnish and firescale..."
Whoops - I fear we made an error. Argentium uses Germanium to
replace SOME copper; but certainly doesn’t replace all copper. I
apologize for the error. As the Manager of this area, I should have
caught this before it went to print. So the egg belongs on my face.
