To all the jeweler cleaners out there,
In the old days the polishing departments used a “boil out pot”.
This is a stainless steel soup kettle with boiling water and Tide
Laundry Detergent. I set it up on a one or two burner portable
electric stove top.
Tide is a great grease cutter. Boiling generates the right amount of
heat to melt the wax and grease based compounds right off.
Following that the ultrasonic and steam step take a lot less time.
Old school is good school.
