Thanks to all who wittily, disbelievingly, factually, fully and
fascinatingly identified cuttlefish and why they came up in a
Jewelry list. I figured they were fish; didn’t know about their
parakeet uses; and couldn’t fathom why they’d be cast. Hence I
thought it was some arcane inside term… sort of like "sailfish"
being a boat, not just an acquatic lifeform. I shall go off to
my usual haunts to find some cast cuttlefish and admire them, and
if I ever get a chance to snorkle will look for them performing
what sounds like a water ballet similar to the ones we used to
swim at camp! A very happy holiday to all, and a new year
