The Culver City Rock & Mineral Club presents its 42nd annual Fiesta
of Gems show this weekend – Saturday, June 28, from 10 to 6, and
Sunday, June 29, from 10 to 5, at the Veterans Memorial Building,
corner of Overland Ave. and Culver Blvd. in Culver City, CA.
The show features over 25 dealers of everything related to rocks,
minerals, gems, jewelry and lapidary, as well as demonstrations of
jewelry-making and lapidary skills, jewelry repair, all kinds of
prizes, games for kids, and great exhibits. Since this year’s show
theme is “Opals of the World,” there will be a presentation about
opals each day at 1 pm and special opal exhibits by the American Opal
Society and the Museum of Natural History, among others.
Admission and parking are FREE! If the parking spaces along Culver
Blvd. and on the streets are full, you may park in the Sony Pictures
lot. The entrance to the lot is a half block north of Culver Blvd.
on the east side of Overland. You must move your car off the lot by
6:30 pm and your car may be searched for weapons on the way in.
