oh! here the guy is using a tube…metal or plastic…and a knitting needle of the desired diameter…and he has invented a vacumn base…people are so creative!
i wonder if drilling holes in the pipe, and then poking air vents, while packing, and then pulling them out before piking the model rod in, would work without needing a vacumn…

Pretty cool, well, maybe hot. I do use a 1.25” PVC pipe long enough to cast an 8” long ingot that might be 3/8” in diameter. Adding the vacuum might be a good idea as it doesn’t always go so well. Thanks for sharing…Rob
