Copper chain end connector

I was wondering what any of you use at the end of copper chain as a
clasp or end connector. Since working with copper clay I have created
a number of focal pieces, purchased beautiful solid copper chain and
later realized that I cannot find any end connectors in copper for
soldering. I have tried creating an end out of metal clay only to
have the chain melt in the process. My other alternative is to create
the end and then solder it to the chain but would like to purchase
something pre-made. Do any of you have any ideas where I can find
such findings (solid copper)? I never imagined purchasing the chain,
creating the focal piece and not having anything to connect it. Thank
you for your help.

I purchased copper lobster claw clasps and several sizes of jump
rings from Fire Mountain Gems. they have a good selection of copper
components.

Sam,

You will find solid copper (as well as copper plated) clasps and
other copper findings at ABeadStore.com.

It’s easy to make a S hook using copper wire from the hardware store.
Form a S with with wire to the size that you need. Flip each end up a
little like the tip on an old fashioned bobby pin. Lay it flat on
something hard and hammer the top and bottom loop with what ever
hammer you have. Insert one end into a loop, put the necklace on and
put the other end into the desired link. Easy easy easy.

...where can I find solid copper findings...

Search on ebay for copper clasp. Also, search on Etsy, in the
materials category, for copper clasp.
