Confused about torch tips and regulators

Hello all,

I am just getting started making jewelry and I am about to make the
torch plunge. I am a bit confused when it comes to torch tips and
regulators and I was wondering if all you out there could help clear
up some of the issues i have been having.

First, I would like to use a prest-o-lite torch that originally was
intended for acetylene with either propane or MAPP, can I do this?

Second, can I use one of those pre-set regulators for disposable
canisters with a prest-o-lite torch? I will have to replace the hose
that comes with the acetylene torch with LP hose.

Third, will I be able to cast small pieces (one off sand casting)
using propane?

I live in rental property and my shop is a small shared space. If I
had a bigger shop I would go with oxy/acetylene.

Thank you for your help
Kenneth

No you can not. The Prestolite is designed for acetylene any other
fuel gas will not burn correctly with the torch design.

No see above

Third, will I be able to cast small pieces (one off sand casting)
using propane?

With the right torch sure.
