Color-it

Hello All! I have been in discussion with Chuck Duncan from Gesswein,
to explore the possibility of a Colorit Workshop at Metalwerx. Since
Gesswein has been traditionally selling Colorit to only bench
jewelers, they are open to exploring new markets such as PMC. I sent
Chuck some samples of PMC to have him play with. While Colorit won’t
take the place of exquisitely lucious fired enamels, like any good
tool, it has its place. Since I used work with fired enamels, I do
find Colorit as a good enhancement for color on metals such as rusted
steel and aluminimum where fired enamels wouldn’t work. This opens
doors for all kinds of creative possibilites.

If this is something you are interested in, PLEASE email offline,
and I will take my case to Gesswein. We are planning to have the
system in place at Metalwerx as part of our hourly studio fee. You
woul only need to bring your own colors which will bring down the
cost of curing.

A loaner set to MetalWerx was mentioned when I did the small show up
there for them as a method of getting their students to use COLORiT.
Other “ideas” mentioned were the possibility of some kind of
workshop, but this has not been pursued. I though we had discussed
this when we talked about the SNAG conference.
