Cleaning reticulated pieces

Hello everyone, I am looking for some suggestions for cleanup of
firescale on reticulated pieces. I have been using some very
interesting combinations of reticulated silver and gold on pieces
but when it comes time to get rid of those nasty, firescale blotches
I am not happy with the results. It seems to upset the reticulated
pattern that I worked so hard to achieve. I am wondering if there
is a way to keep that nice whitish fine silver coating on the
surface too. Could this be a case of less buffing is more?? I
can’t seem to live with those awful blotches. Any suggestions would
be appreciated. Thanks in advance. GRACE
