Casting rhodium plated sterling scrap

One of my friends wants to do cuttlebone casting using some rhodium
plated sterling silver scrap. I wonder if this is advisable. Is
there any danger from the fumes of the rhodium as it melts? Also,
how will it affect the silver?

I don’t believe there should be any problem casting silver (Or Gold)
that’s been rhodium plated. There is so little rhodium on the piece.
However, most rhodium plated silver is also nickel plated as a base
and to give a bright finish. That can cause a problem.
