Casting gold into platinum

I was wondering if anyone had any info or experience with
casting 14 or 18k gold directly into a semi-finished platinum
piece?

Gold will flow onto platinum like solder. Try this to fill
depressions.

Be sure and prepolish the Platinum piece. Now attach your wax to
it and invest and cast. When the gold meets with the Platinum it
will create a metallurgical bond and you are all set. It is a
very convenient way to make bi-metal jewelry. For more questiona

If you mean casting with platinum findings already in place, my
experience is that the gold will unlikely bond completely as the
platinum is still a little to cool to accept the new metal. It
is possible to solder and there is otherwise no harm done.
