Casters - brooch

I have a client who wants a pair of earrings made to match a cast
brooch. The design she selected needs to be cast and I am unable to
do it. Can anyone suggest somebody in San Francisco, Oakland, or the
Bay Area? Thanks. Alana Clearlake

Dominic is not in the area you requested, but he’s the finest caster
I have had the pleasure to deal with. His business name is DoPaso,
in Aubuquerque NM and his name is Dominic Annetta. He can turn work
around quickly if you need, and is cutting edge in his casting
technology.

Good luck,
Gianna

Hi Alana,

I have used Sierra Pacific Casting in Oakland with reasonable
results, but I send my very special pieces to John Henkel in Maine.
If you have the time to ship your stuff out I would choose John over
a local shop; he is the one who cast the mermaid that I en ronde
enameled last year. If your timeline is short Sierra Pacific will do
good work with a relatively quick turn around time.

i have a small casting studio i started because i got frustrated
with the quality i received from several attempts by different
casters. i cast and tumble, no hand finishing. i can do unusual parts
and pieces others have trouble with. my molds have the least cleanup
due to mold lines and sprue attachments. basic price is $.75 per
gram. i can do gold, again just tumble polish. e-mail at @Jewelers_Gallery

Those looking for casters–

I’ve used local casters in down town Chicago, and now use Daniel
Grandi at Racecar Jewelry. I find it less hassle to do it by mail
than to schlep 35 minutes or more each way on the train, and I can’t
believe you can do any better, in terms of quality (I can’t really
speak to price, since I don’t do that much outsourcing of casting,
so far, but what I got was worth what I paid, in my view).

Plus, the guy’s One Of Us, and has been very generous with his time
and expertise. So, why not keep it in the family?

A happy customer
