Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

and dont forget the one no one really hears about, but many get.
Myself included. cubital tunnel syndrome. The Cubital nerve to the
rest of the world is known as , the funny bone! Problem is that if
you rest on your elbows a lot, you compress that nerve and can cause
permanent damage causing numb tingling index and pinky fingers,
loosing grip from time to time, and an elbow that hurts like you
know what if you just touch it! The cure? surgery, and its worse
than that symptoms. So watch those elbows boys and girls! what
seems like a few minor bumps and bruises now, could be a real pain
in the elbow later.

Hello everybody… I’ve had to make some research on this carpal
tunnel syndrome annoying symptoms since I had to wear a cast for 3
weeks a couple of years ago. I swore I would do anything possible
not to suffer it again. I know averyone of you can imagine how
frustrating and boring can be having to stay 3 weeks without doing
anything.

This problem is caused mainly by REPETITIVE MOVEMENTS or holding the
same position for hours. Tendons get swollen and press the nervous
terminals around them, that’s what’s painful thus it begins with a
light tingling followed by numbness on the last three fingers.

I’ve had some over the counter PILLS that help chitosamine and
chrondoitin, vitamin B6 and B12; though these help you have to be
constant taking them every day as instructions say for a long time
(at least 3 weeks) to feel the results. And most important never
exceed the daily dose since this can carry other types of problems
and it won’t accelerate healing anyways. Besides B vitamins in
excess make you very hungry and you’ll end up needing diet pills.

If you’re a NATURIST person turmeric (curcuma) tea on milk reslly
helps a lot with swelling and it really does taste good too. it
makes a beautiful yellow beverage. I usually add honey.

The most efective treatment I’ve found yet has been sttretching
before working. Stretching hands, arms, and back. this takes only a
couple of minutes but you’ll see it really helps you feel better.
And if you don’t have any pain, stretching definitely will help you
not to get this kind of damage, STRETCHING IS THE BEST PREVENTION
AND HEALING AID. And of course every 30 or 45 minutes it is best to
drop work to loosen up muscles, imagine that less than one minute is
enough to prevent damage.

There are several good books on this subject like: Conquering
Carpal Tunnel Syndrome : And Other Repetitive Strain Injuries – by
Sharon J. Butler, Jacqueline Entwistle Freeman. It’s $13.27 at
amazon, it has helped me a lot.

I hope this answers some questions, if it’s too painful i guess that
a visit to an orthopedical doctor is the best thing. Sometimes the
pain can also be caused by tendonitis that’s still painful but has a
diferent tratment.

I hope you feel well and HEALTHY HANDS TO ALL!! Feel free to write if
you want to

I saw an orthopedic guy for back pain, which is intermittent but
chronic, resulting from arthritis in my lower spine. He did not
recommend surgery (which would mean fusing a couple of vertebrae)
until/unless the pain becomes extreme and constant (it’s very major
surgery and doesn’t always help). He did suggest that I try
Glucosamine & Chondroitin in the maximum recommended amounts (often
called triple strength). He also said that these substances work in
only 50% of the people who try them and they must be taken three
months before results can be expected. I took them for four and a
half months, got no relief and stopped (they’re also very
expensive!). Your mileage may well vary.

Note: Not all brands are created equal. They are dietary
supplements and not regulated. He gave me a print out from a website
which discusses these substances and reputable brands:
