My question is, how is the [METAL Inclinations] exhibit brought to
the attention of the public?"
The Society for Midwest Metalsmiths (SMM) is actively promoting the
METAL Inclinations International Online Exhibition. We have listed
the site with many search engines and web directories. We have
contacted media throughout the world for our “call for entries” and
we will continue to actively promote the METAL Inclinations site once
it opens October 31, 2008. SMM is also planning to run a 1/2 page
kick off ad in the October issue of METALSMITH magazine to create
more traffic and “buzz” for the exhibition and the selected artists.
Will the work be offered for sale? And do such shows (virtual,
that is) typically benefit the artists?"
Each artist will have their own individual web page/s in addition to
the main gallery page on the METAL Inclinations site. Their
individual page/s will include an enlarged image of their work, their
artist statement, title, materials & techniques. PLUS a link to the
artist’s business or personal web site (or email address). The
artists can use this link to bring traffic to their own web site or
email and sell, not only, the piece/s in the exhibition, but other
pieces as well. Any income made from the artist’s own website during
the exhibition, totally belongs to the artist. SMM does NOT take a
percentage of any sales.
SMM will be using web statistic software to track visitors. We will
be able to give feed back to each artist about clicks on their
image/s in the gallery area and traffic to their individual web
page/s on the metal Inclinations site.
I hope I have answered your questions.

interest so i thought that I’d post the question and answer for all.
When will I know if I am accepted into the show?
The date that all metalsmiths entering “METAL Inclinations” will be

I hope that this is an adequate response to your questions. If I can
