I received a question to my personal email regarding this “on line”
exhibition. The question and answer may be of interst to other
artists so I’m posting on Orchid.

Can I enter a piece of jewelry that I no longer own?

Yes, you do not have to still own the piece that you make as long as
you are able to submit a good digital image to be juried.

This is a bit late, but–

This is advertised as a virtual exhibit, and promises great exposure
for accepted artists. My question is, how is the “exhibit” brought
to the attention of the public? Who will see it? How are people led
to the site? Will the work be offered for sale? And do such shows
(virtual, that is) typically benefit the artists?

I’ve been in two or three on line exhibits (one during SNAG in
Chicago) and have gotten no feedback or results of any kind, but I
would like to think this is a medium that has potential.

This is a question about the Metal Inclinations International Online
Exhibition.

I read on your l website
http://www.smm-metalinclinations.org that an accepted artist can have
a link to their personal website from their image. Can I really sell
jewelry and metal work from my website linked to my image without Mid
West Metal Smiths taking a percentage of the sale?
