Jewelry + Objects: MSG 2009 Membership Exhibition

A competitive exhibition promoting excellence in the field of
metalsmithing sponsored by the Michigan Silversmiths Guild (MSG) in
collaboration with the Ann Arbor Art Center (AAAC).

Jurors - Our distinguished jurors are Prof.John Wittersheim and Pat
Garrett. Mr. Wittersheim is currently professor of Metalsmithing and
Sculpture at Siena Heights University in Adrian, Mi. He holds a BFA
from Eastern Michigan University and MFA from the Cranbrook Academy
of Art. He has exhibited his sculptures and metalwork nationally and
has received many liturgical commissions. Pat Garrett holds her BFA
from Eastern Michigan University and has exhibited her work
nationally. She has exhibited at the Renwick Gallery and the
Smithsonian Craft Show, and has been the subject of articles in
Ornament and Lapidary Journal.

Awards - Presenting over $1000 in awards from our sponsors and MSG.

Catalog - In honor of the Guild’s 60th anniversary, we will produce
an exhibition catalog featuring the exhibition, artist and juror
statements with a brief history of the Michigan Silversmiths
Guild.

Jewelry + Objects - Select Traveling Show - The guild will be taking
a select portion of the exhibition to Domaci Gallery in Rogers City,
Michigan. Please indicate on your entry form if you would like to be
considered for the Jewelry + Objects - Select Traveling Show

Entries - All work must be original, completed within the last three
years and not previously exhibited in this exhibit. Work produced in
a school curriculum is eligible. Entrants must be a current member of
MSG. Artists may submit up to three entries for $35. New or renewing
members may include membership form and payment with entry.
Membership forms can be found as a PDF on the website. Please
indicate a permanent address for return of your work.
