Call for Entries for Surfacing, the 12th Biennial International
Juried Enamel Exhibition and 8th International Juried Student
Exhibition sponsored by The Enamelist Society.
July 22 through August 22, 2009 at the Oakland Art Gallery in
Oakland, California. Opening reception, Friday, August 7th in
conjunction with the 2009 Enamelist Society Conference.
Exhibition jurors will be Harlan Butt, Regents Professor of Art at
the University of North Texas and past President of The Enamelist
Society, Maria Phillips, educator and metalsmitih, and co-curator of
the 2003 Exhibition in Print: focus on contemporary enamels, and
Suzanne Baizerman, former curator of Decorative Arts at the Oakland
Museum.
Cost of entry is $30 for Society members, $40 for non-members and
$15 for students.
Submissions for the exhibitions must be made using digital images
only. Images should be in jpeg format at 72 dpi and the longest
dimension of each image must be between 650 and 700 pixels.
Deadline for entry is January 16, 2009. Notification of accepted
work will be sent February 13, 2009, along with the contract and loan
agreement.
