Calibrating your scale

Hello everyone! I have this old scale that works with a dial that
used to work very well until the i weighed something too heavy…
Now, it’s off-scale by three grams. Even by turning the knob, it
won’t recalibrate. Does anyone know how to correct this problemo?

There should be an adjustment weight that screws out on the left
hand side as you face the scale. It is just under the pan sticking
out from the end of the balance beam. Frank Goss
