Buying Diamonds

A note of thanks

Hello everyone:

Thank you to everyone for the wealth of on diamond beads
and GIA education.

I have to say, two weeks ago, I was ready to hang it up and go back
to being an accountant. In the past, I have been completely
bewildered as to where to start on this path that I have chosen. It
has been mysterious and overwhelming to me.

This is, technically, my fourth career. I worked as a linguist for
Russian in the USAF, I separated on the GI Bill and went on to
become an accountant, I became a stay at home Mom (yes, a housewife),
and now, on to be (hopefully) an artist.

The that I have received in this forum has brought me to
the understanding that my dream is actually realizable. I am going
forward, nervous, but not swaying in my belief that, if I work hard
enough, I can be successful.

Some would say that I have a hard time deciding things, so many
careers, so little time. To that I say, I just love to learn new
things. When my son was born, more than one person said “you have no
time for this hobby”. Boy, they were way off and every time I sell a
piece of jewelry I think “Ha, don’t tell me what I have time for”.

For everyone who has given me thank you for helping
realize what I want to be.

Best Regards,

I am happy that we all could give you a boost. If you still speak
russian you should really consider working that into your business
plan. There are quite a few Russian speakers in the commercial
jewelry industry, stone cutters, dealers and manufacturers. Using a
second language is always a great way to work at a better pay scale.
Good luck. Dennis

What are the going rates on diamond beads? Are they the same
prices as for cut diamonds? (They could be nuggets)

How about large faceted black diamonds? Thought they would be easy
to find but most seem to be rounds and I would like to fine ovals or
perferably rose cut natural color blacks.
