Buttery Matte Finish for 22K Gold?

Does anyone have any ideas or tips on how to get that perfect,
buttery matte finish on 22K gold a la Reinstein-Ross? Extra points
if your ideas can be accomplished by hand or with the flex shaft…

Pumice powder with a slow turning wet brass brush? That’s how we
used to make the “Butler finish” years back… BTW, the brass brush is
a soft wide 3" variety, though you might be able to use a mounted
brush in the flex shaft.

Go to your beauty supply store and buy the long square sponge nail
file in the finest grit they have. This will do it for you.
