Hi, does anyone know where I can order sheet bronze. I am looking
for bronze without zinc such as phosphor bronze and manganese bronze.
I have spent hours over the past few weeks on line trying to find
where I can order it in small amounts - makes me feel like a complete
idiot that I can’t find a resource. I have just spent quite a time
in the archives trying to find a resource. I want to use some bronze
in mokume and for some bead making. In grad school we had a bronze
that was near the color of gold I think that may be the manganese
bronze. Has anyone used some of the other bronze alloys such as
aluminum bz? I hate to be a pest I am just at a loss trying to find
this.
You might check with Contenti, they have some of these types of
materials, although I’m not sure without having their catalog handy
exactly what they have. The have a web site at
Try McMaster Carr (great web catalog) and their prices are good.
They have just about everything and if you can’t find it on line,
give them a call. They have always been very helpful.
A wonderful source for bronze (as well as aluminum, copper and
stainless steel in many forms including mesh) is “Alaskan Copper and
Brass Company” located in both Portland, Oregon and Seattle, WA.
They are extremely helpful and willing to take special orders.

Morning all, I was wondering if anyone knew of bronze suppliers in
Australia? I would like (ideally) to get some casting grain but I’ll
take sheet, rod, whatever. Thank you Eileen

Hi Eileen, Austral Wright Metals sell a couple of different bronzes

helpful if a bit bemused at dealing with a jeweller :-),
