Hello, Im going to Boston in a couple of weeks and would love to know
where the jewelry art galleries are, or if any special metal exhibits
are happening. Thanks in advance!

You should check out the Quadrum Gallery in the Chestnut Hill Mall in
Chestnut Hill and also on Newbury Street. Also Mobilia is on Huron
Avenue in Cambridge.

I know there were some Jewelry exhibit(s) schedule through the end of
April.

Also the Boston Museum of Fine Arts has wonderful permanent
exhibitions of ancient egyptian and ancient greco-roman jewelry. I
think their Tiara exhibit will still be going on then too.

Enjoy,
Lynne

Hi Anastasia!

There are several good galleries in Boston/Cambridge. First is
Mobilia on Huron Ave. in Cambridge. This gallery is mostly devoted to
metals, although they have other outstanding crafts on display.

The second would be the Society of Arts and Crafts on Newbury St. in
downtown Boston. There are lots of nice galleries and shopping along
this street.

The Museum of Fine Arts <www.mfa.org> has their wonderful Tiara show
going on right now. And if you visit the MFA, wander up a block to
Mass College of Art. In a couple of weeks are the Master of Fine Arts
shows in the Huntington Gallery. The Pat Doran Gallery will hold the
annual show of the Mass Art Metals Department. Both are a easy ride on
the MBTA. Also, the Gardner Museum is within an easy walking distance
of both the MFA and Mass Art. This museum has an ecclectic collection
of art where the art has hung in the same place for decades, due to
the wishes of Ms. Gardner. It is also a nice place to have lunch.

If you are feeling very adventurous, and also accessible by the
subway, travel up to the Chestnut Hill mall to Quadrum Gallery. They
have a very good collection of high-end contemporary jewelry for sale.

I will be away from May 10-22 on vacation. If you are around before
or after these dates, give me a call at Metalwerx (phone below) and I
will be glad to show you our gallery and workspace.

Have a lovely trip,
-k

Hi from Massachusetts. Most of the Galleries are on Newbury Street.
I believe it runs off Boston Common. Have fun! Andrea Guyot

Also check out the Society of Arts and Crafts on Newbury St. I was
there last month and found a really neat Mezzuzah, less pricey than
most I had seen. Boston’s a great town! Gini
