Black Max (was:RE: deoxidized silver

Hi Kenneth!

Does Black Max have a longer shelf life than liver of sulfur?
Nothing irks me more (or, I should say few things) than finding
my liver of sulfur has gone dead!

Dave:

Shelf life seems to be indefinite. That is one of the reasons I
like. It also works very quickly. It also works on cold silver.

I had a bottle of Win Ox or something very simular. I had it so
long that the lable could not be read. It always worked. It
Black Max is anything like that stuff, what ever it was, it will
last and last and last. I don’t have any luck keeping liver of
sulfer either. Marilyn Smith

Hi I use a product put out by Griffith called “Silver-Black”.
I’ve had this bottle for years & it has not lost it’s strenght.
It seems to work best if you put a brushed finish on your piece.
I have a 3M flap wheel I use, works great, also very good at
taking off fire scale. I’ve found that if your piece is highly
polished the finish has motley affect. After I finish my piece I
apply 3 coats of Renaisance wax. :-)Win
