[Biz Talk] Inventory reduction

Hi group,

I was wondering if anyone out there in Orchid land has held a
successful inventory reduction sale of supplies, components, beads,
cabochons, findings etc. etc. that you were just not using or got
tired of.

Do you have any tips or ideas that has made it worth the time and
trouble to weigh, count, label, bag, and or string it all. At some
time, we need to make room, and I’m feeling… out with the old
and in with the new!

I am not thinking Etsy, Ebay, consignment, donating it, or traveling
shows… Got any ideas???

Thanks!
Karen

Karen,

You could list everything you want to sell, and people can email you
off line and maybe purchase your items. I, myself would be
interested. I rarely work with gold, but I do a lot of sterling
silver and I refurbish costume jewelry. So I am always interested
buying materials.

Hi Karen

are you in touch with other local jewellers? The Association for
Contemporary Jewellery (acj.org.uk) has a very active regional group
in Bristol. We have held “bring and buy” sales a few times, with
great success. Local students were also invited, and were keen
buyers. Result: happy buyers, happy sellers and tidier workshops.
One of these events had 25% of the asking price donated to
ACJ-Bristol as a fundraiser for our major Jewellery-Unlimited
exhibition.

good luck with your excess stock
