Barrelling Enquiry for working Silverwork

I have been gathering together some equipment which will allow me to
make settings for my Lapidary work.

One of the items I am looking to get is a barreler or tumbler

Does anyone know what rpm the barrel should revolve at? Would a rock
tumbler with a finned barrel do the job? Or I have the necessary kit
to enable me to build one myself.

best regards
Andy

It depends on the diameter of the barrel. There was a thread a
couple weeks ago on the rock tumbling hobby board about barrels
speed:

The rock tumbling hobby board is the best online resource for rock
tumbling and also a good resource for general lapidary information
and how to build your own tumblers.

Thankyou I have since found a thread saying that barrel speed for
tumbling jewellery should be around 40 rpm does anyone agree with
this speed
