Thought I'd pass this on. I have a customer who is very allergic to
metals, especially with her earlobes. She told me recently that she
now puts a tiny amount of baking soda in the palm of her hand and
runs the earring post through it before putting it in her ear, and it
seems to work for her. I told a friend about it, who has the same
problem, and she is also having luck with this little trick.
It seems obvious that acidity is part of the problem, and a trial of
two individuals isn't much, but worth passing on in case it helps
