Good day to you after reading your article on bakelite I thought I
would drop you a line. Firstly true red amber is very rare,and as you
know most that s sold is in fact bakelite.The production of the
bakelite we are seeing at the moment is coming out of Greece in there
truck loads this is normally the red clear plastic,however other fakes
are coming form Japan,Italy as well as any amber producing country.In
Russia and Poland amber is being treated in an auto clave to clarify
amber and different chemicals added to change the colours.We are now
seeing,blue,red and green amber which look totally false and in fact
