I have some 1mm square argentium wire. I’d like to fuse it to a fine silver sheet so I makes a border into which I can enamel. I have two main questions.
Will the argentium and the enamel. I’ve read various opinions. Some suggest it should be depletion gilded, others say it’s ok as is (in both cases the argentium formed the backplate I think).
Is the wire likely to slump with the heat of the enamelling? It will of course be supported by the sheet. I wouldn’t have thought it would, but maybe the square would be rounded?
I’d appreciate your comments,
Thanks Helen

Contact Cynthia Eid or Ronda Coryell (google them). They have experience using argentium.

I do know that Argentium doesn’t need to be depletion guilded before keumboo so I used it recently when learning to enamel and it worked wonderfully. The new formula 940 doesn’t slump either.

If you have enough of both metals just run an experiment with some small bits first.
