Dear CS, Yes your anvil can be restored. Take it to and very
accomplished machine shop that does high end engineering level work.
It can be sand blasted and all of the planes can be precision
restored with a very flat surface and a good polish. It may be costly
but they will do a good job. I had my restored a few years ago but I
don’t know the cost because the owners wouldn’t let me pay for it
when I went to pick it up. My first (late) husband was a mechanical
engineer and did so much business with them that they gave me a
freebie.
