Anti-tarnish coating

Does anyone know of a safe way to remove an anti-tarnish coating from sterling chain?

Thanks!

It depends on the “coating”. If it is lacquered just boil it in baking soda and water. If it’s nickle and then rhodium plated I don’t think they can be electro striped. I’ve tried it and failed.

Thank you - I’ll try boiling it as I’m not sure what the method was.

I know it’s really, really hard to remove an anti-tarnish coating and it’s not recommended at all. It would probably come off unevenly if you attempted it and even then an LOS/patina wouldn’t cover it well enough to look very good.
