Another Orchid Artist in Lapidary Journal

Well, I finally made it into Lapdiary Journal after two years from initial
contact! (Proving that it DOES pay to have a website). The article is
pretty good, some inaccuracies but it tells the story…

One comment though, LJ seems a bit skeptical in the article that I had the
first jewelry art site ever on the internet, well it IS true and I had
another goldsmith verify this last year.

Anyway, I also have a “how to” article in there (the photo is horrible
even though I sent them a great shot…) and if anyone has any questions
about this technique feel free to email me, its actually a very simple
method, if you know how to work with wax and cast.

Excuse me for blowing my own horn here, but couldn’t help!!!

Congratualtions! Really, I’ve looked your site over a time or two over the
last few years and I’m proud to see you make into print and press. Kudos.

Yours,
Terry

Good job Dave, Lovely to see your work, about you and all, not
to mention a good article. The more we all work together to bring jewelry
making to th public the better off we all are. Charles

Charles and Terence: thanks, I forgot to mention that I told the writer
specifically about the Orchid Group and gave the URL to sign up but it
didn’t make it into the finaly article, they only vaguely referred to my
“online school.” I love Orchid…Dave

Hi Dave, Two great articles! It’s nice to be able to put a face with the
name. Hope to see more of your stuff in LJ.

Dave Arens

Way to go Dave. I can personally testify as to the quality of
his work…up close. I saw the article in LJ, went to his web
page, http://www.crystalguy.com/ fell in love with “Comet Lady”
and am now wearing it. I have had nothing but Oooo’s and
Ahhhh’s since I’ve bought it. The Gold and Silver combined with
the Blue and Purple is nothing but “Show Stopping”.

The Zambian amethyst on top of “Comet Lady”, faceted by Jon
Rolfe is fantastic and one of the deepest purples I’ve ever seen.
http://www.gearloose.com I hope to be able to do the kind of
quality work these two guys do one of these days. And I’d like to
thank all who greeted me as a new-commer to Orchid. Thanks Mollie
Arnette, Judy Willingham , and Etienne Perrett, that made me
feel really special.

BTW Dave, you need to put a picture of yourself on your Web page
to offset the MugShot in LJ……

Love and God Bless
