Acidic environment in the studio

Turning off the pickle pot can some times be a challange. What I’ve
learned to do is turn it on before I solder. Then when everything in
the pot, it is plenty hot and I turn it off.

Hi Carol,

You can find citric acid below in various quantities. I’ve been
using it for years with great success.

Add 1 teaspoon per quart of water-used COLD. Up to 2 cups of citric
acid can be used if speed is of the essence, but try to use the
least amount necessary. Neutralized with baking soda. Remember, this
is an acid!

Hello Carol,

I buy granular citric acid from a supplier of materials for hand-made
soaps. brambleberry.com sells it by the pound or 10 pound package.
Shipping is more costly than the citric acid! Also check the home
canning area of your grocery store.

Hope this helps,
