Sharon, This is how you do it…It is the same method by which
Copper Engravings are done. One you have your etched copper plate
…you, can use Printing Ink or make your own by thining down oil
paint with turps…then wipe over with a cheese cloth so the Ink/paint
is in the lines…dampen the watercolor paper but not wringing
wet…use a fine sprayer …like the one on hair spray…then put the
copper and watercolor paper together and roll through the rolling
machine… you will end up with minature copper engravings…Just
like the old masters…Sepia colored paint looks particularlly nice.
Then you can deckle the edge and mount them. (Don’t forget to dry the
rolling machine after you do this)…Susan
Nikki - thanks. I have been using 80 mesh opaque Thompson enamels
but have not been washing them. I also haven’t been removing
moisture as Alma recommended. I’ll try both of those things and see what happens.
