Here is a brief note on our recent website improvements at the
Ganoksin Project.
We have been hard at work behind the scenes - creating a new powerful
meta-search utility and initiating our newest feature: The Industry
Trade Directory Index. This directory lets you find products,
sources, jewelers, groups, magazines and more easily and with a
logical backtracking feature to navigate categories.
Ganoksin’s new Power Meta Search is easy to use. It is a one step
search method to easily find from the different sections
of the Ganoksin Project web site.
The Ganoksin website now includes over 150,000 documents on
virtually every aspect of the gem and jewelry trade. The Power Meta
Search located at the top of each page will allow you to search for
articles, orchid archived documents, the jeweler’s bibliography list
and searches in the Industry Trade Directory Index.

Another exciting new development is a way to share the wealth of
Ganoksin has to offer with your own visitors at your web
site. Just by copying and pasting a simple code to your own webpage
you can have a Ganoksin Gateway on your site. It’s a great way add
free content to your website and to help us spread our to
others who may benefit from it.

We are especially excited about the newest feature, the Industry
Trade Directory Index, which is completely devoted to the metals,
gem and jewelry trade. All the entries are edited by and checked by
myself and a small group of volunteers. It was my experience as
acting editor to the Open Directory project [dmoz.org] which
made me to decide to build a dedicated sourcing directory devoted to
our trade.
A group of volunteers are working hard on putting together a list of
recommended resources to add to the over 300 already listed. The
guide, with more than 150 subjects will cover most of our trade needs
and is intended to become the leading online trade guide for gem and
jewelry resources. Featuring searchable categories in Art, Business,
Education, Supplies and Services and more, each includes
sub-categories in each section.
If you know of an online resource that you feel should be listed in
the guide please fell free to do so, you are also welcome to submit
your own site, and reviews of existing listings, and to share your
experience with the rest of us.
