I have a customer who wonders if I could recycle their class rings into useful wire that then could be incorporated into a silver and gold bracelet. I have never worked with 10K and a search of the archives indicates that it is “hard” and “dirty”. I am not sure what they mean, but can see the hard part depending on what the rest of the alloy is. Any advice regarding this type of work would be appreciated. I have recycled a lot of 14K and up yellow and it works just fine, but never 10K. Thanks for any help…Rob

i have worked in 10k yellow gold…soldering wire and sheet…as well as castings…
i did not really notice anything too different when working with it…
the only thing that i noticed was that it tarnished/ darkened after awhile…just sort of duller, very slightly darker than when originally polished…has a warm humanistic patina…
